Breastfeeding groups

When you become a new parent and start breastfeeding you may have questions about how you and your baby are doing. Sometimes you may even feel you are on your own.

Would you like to meet or talk with other parents who are going through similar breastfeeding experiences?

Are you pregnant and interested in learning more about breastfeeding?

Breastfeeding groups provide opportunities to get answers from talking and listening to others having similar experiences.

Many pregnant and new parents may have breastfeeding questions that they have been wanting to ask. Joining a breastfeeding group provides a great opportunity for you to ask questions, share knowledge, experiences and learn from other breastfeeding parents.

Often, other breastfeeding parents are a great source of support and encouragement and may be all you need to feel more confident in your breastfeeding and parenting journey.

Breastfeeding groups:

  • help you stay motivated
  • let you share your experiences
  • provide opportunities to learn from other parents

Toronto Public Health offers free breastfeeding groups that provide opportunities for families to discuss breastfeeding with a Public Health Nurse and peers. Public Health Nurses are available to answer your questions and provide breastfeeding education and support. All pregnant and breastfeeding families are invited to attend.

Whether you want:

  • breastfeeding support
  • a chance to meet new friends
  • to share experiences
  • to learn new information

Come visit a breastfeeding group. The groups are drop-in and free.

Find a location near you! You don’t have to register beforehand. You can just arrive at the time the group starts.
