
These are difficult times and the pandemic is testing our resilience. We are doing things that we may have never done before, such as home schooling, staying away from our family and friends and working from home. Our routines have changed and we may be feeling that we have no control over what is happening in our life.
So how do we manage this and build our resilience?
We feel empowered when we make changes. We can’t change the pandemic but we can make choices about our wellness and leading a healthy and fulfilling life.
We can make choices and build our resilience through our: Thoughts, Behaviours and Actions
Now more than ever it’s important to take care of ourselves. Often as new parents we focus on taking care of our children but in order to take care of someone else we first need to take care of ourselves.
Here is a sample recipe for wellness.

Sample Wellness Recipe
Ingredients:
1 bowl of something healthy |
1 self-care activity: take a break, call a friend, read a book, listen to music… |
10-30 minutes of movement: exercise, stretching, walking, being active |
A few minutes of deep breathing, finding quiet space or being mindful |
Enough sleep and rest |
Lots of laughter |
Say something positive to yourself |
Be kind to someone |
Add some new ingredients to your recipe |
Mix all ingredients TOGETHER, have FUN and ENJOY!
