In my opinion, parenting is one of the toughest and most rewarding things in life. When I was pregnant I was so worried about labour and birth. I went to prenatal programs to learn what to eat to keep me and my baby healthy, how to manage my nausea and vomiting, signs of labour, and how to breathe and manage labour pain. I felt prepared and ready to start this new part of my life. But no one ever told me how hard parenting would be!

Sleepless nights, inconsolable crying, diaper rash, temper tantrums, starting solids, toilet training, ear infections, setting limits, choosing daycare…the list goes on and on. I had heard that “the first years last forever”, that the choices I made in the first years would set the foundation to help my child grow and develop into a healthy, happy and productive member of society. No pressure right?? How was I supposed to know that I was doing the right thing? Everyone gave me different advice and I didn’t know who to believe.
